Image Permissions & Uses

Overview of requesting and using images for publication purposes. This guide also provides additional resources for understanding copyright and fair use.

O'Keeffe's Art

Requests to use Georgia O’Keeffe’s artwork in publications, exhibition materials, web applications, and merchandise are sent to the person/organization responsible for managing that copyright. Obtaining permissions for use, and getting the image files are the two components to publishing an image.

Fine Art Photography

Most of the works in the Museum's fine art photography collection are copyrighted by the photographer of each photograph, or the photographer’s estates.
